Description

Epicin-B Ointment is a combination of Mupirocin and Bromelain. It is used topically to treat bacterial skin infections such as impetigo (reddish sores on the skin, especially around the nose and mouth). It is also used to treat ulcers or swelling of the skin after surgery or an injury. It is not effective against viral and fungal infections. This medicine works by stopping bacterial growth and promoting healing of the affected skin. Epicin-B Ointment rarely causes serious side effects. You may experience redness, itching, dryness, or burning sensation at the application site. Avoid touching or scratching the affected skin area during the course of treatment as it may worsen or can spread the infection. Avoid using this medicine if you have a known allergy to it. Consult your doctor at the earliest if you come across allergic reactions such as rash, swelling of the application site, breathing difficulty, etc. Epicin-B Ointment should be used only on the skin and as per the instructions given by your doctor. Clean the affected area of the skin and apply a thin layer of this medicine. Wash your hands before and after use. Rinse with water if this medicine gets in your eyes or mouth. Do not cover the application area with bandages or other materials unless instructed by your doctor. Epicin-B Ointment can take several days to improve your symptoms. Ensure to complete the course of treatment for better results. Consult your doctor if your symptoms do not improve or get worse. Epicin-B Ointment should be used with caution if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Inform your doctor if you are taking or have recently taken any other medicine for this condition.
