This medicine is used for the treatment of acute and persistent diarrhea in children.

This medicine is not recommended in patients with kidney impairment.
Impaired liver function
This medicine is not recommended in patients with liver impairment.
Severe vomiting
The availability of this medicine is decreased in patients with severe vomiting, therefore not used in patients with severe vomiting.
Skin reactions
This medicine is known to cause mild to moderate skin reactions. The treatment should be discontinued if any symptoms of skin rash appear.

This medicine may interact with many other medicines and may cause severe adverse effects. Hence, it is advised that you inform the doctor about the use of all current medicines including any herbs and supplements before beginning treatment with this medicine.
