Description

Diclozyme-P Tablet is a painkiller and a combination of Diclofenac, Paracetamol and Serratiopeptidase. It is used to relieve pain in conditions like headache, mild migraines, muscle pain, joint pain, tooth pain, joint pain, menstrual pain, ankylosing spondylitis (pain due to fusing of bones in the spine), osteoarthritis (pain on movement due to wearing of the protective covering at the ends of the bones) and rheumatoid arthritis (body's immunity attacks the joints and damages it). Diclozyme-P Tablet may cause some side effects like nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, indigestion, and heartburn. If any of these side effects persist for a long time, consult your doctor. Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to any of the components present in this medicine. Diclozyme-P Tablet is recommended to be taken with food to avoid any stomach discomfort. Your doctor will prescribe antacids along with this medicine. He will also decide the dose and duration of the medicine depending on your condition. Diclozyme-P Tablet has to be taken with caution if you have peptic ulcers or any medical conditions of your liver and kidney. Inform your doctor in such a case. Diclozyme-P Tablet may impact or get affected by other medications. Inform your doctor about all your current medications. Do not take other medications that have Paracetamol in them without consulting your doctor. Diclozyme-P Tablet may interact with alcohol and you may see an increase in the side effects such as dizziness, drowsiness, and stomach bleeding. If you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy or are breastfeeding you should consult your doctor before taking this medication.

What is it prescribed for?

Rheumatoid arthritis

Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a condition when your body's immune system attacks the lining of your small joints. It may also affect other parts of the body. Diclozyme-P Tablet is used to relieve swelling and pain in the joints due to RA.

Osteoarthritis

Osteoarthritis (OA) is the most common form of arthritis. In OA, the flexible tissue at the ends of the bones wears down leading to friction. This causes pain, stiffness, and swelling. Diclozyme-P Tablet is used to relieve pain and stiffness due to OA.

Ankylosing spondylitis

Ankylosing Spondylitis is a kind of arthritis that mainly affects the spine causing the small bones of your spinal cord to fuse together. This leads to inflammation, pain and deformity, and a decrease in the flexibility of your spine. Diclozyme-P Tablet is used to relieve stiffness and pain (especially in the lower back, hip, and pelvis) associated with ankylosing spondylitis.

Mild to moderate pain

Diclozyme-P Tablet is used to relieve pain and swelling in conditions like back pain, earache, throat pain, toothache, abdominal pain during periods, and muscle injury.

Allergy

Kidney failure

Active peptic ulcer

A peptic ulcer is a condition in which sores are developed on the inner lining of your stomach and intestine. Diclozyme-P Tablet is an NSAID (nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory medicine) that can induce stomach ulcers, bleeding, or holes in the intestine if taken for a long time. This medicine is not recommended if you already have ulcers as it may worsen your condition.

General warnings

Long term use

Do not use Diclozyme-P Tablet for more than 4 weeks unless prescribed by your doctor as the safety and efficacy of long-term use are not clinically established.

Surgery

The use of Diclozyme-P Tablet should be stopped at least 10-14 days before a scheduled surgery as it may increase the risk of bleeding during and/or after the procedure.

Chronic malnutrition

Diclozyme-P Tablet should be used with extreme caution in people having malnourishment due to the increased risk of severe side effects.

Gastro-intestinal toxicity

Diclozyme-P Tablet may cause damage to the stomach, intestines, liver, etc., especially on prolonged use. This risk is especially higher if you have a history of gastrointestinal troubles like diarrhoea, constipation, peptic ulcer. Report any symptoms such as chronic indigestion, blood in stool, vomiting of blood, etc. to your doctor immediately.

Skin allergy

Diclozyme-P Tablet may cause serious skin allergies in some people. If you develop symptoms such as skin rashes, hives (painful, itchy eruptions that sting), or other allergic symptoms inform your doctor immediately.

Fluid retention and oedema

Diclozyme-P Tablet may cause fluid retention and oedema (swelling in the hands and feet) in some people. Your doctor will suggest tests to closely monitor your blood pressure, electrolyte levels, and heart function while you are on treatment with this medication.

Missed Dose

If you have missed the scheduled dose of Diclozyme-P Tablet, take it as soon as you remember. If the delay period is more than 12 hours, do not take the missed dose. Take the next dose as per schedule. Do not double the dose to make up for the missed one.

Overdose

Never take more than the prescribed dose. Seek emergency medical treatment in case you suspect an overdose of Diclozyme-P Tablet.

NSAIDs (non-steroid anti-inflammatory drugs) are known to trigger asthma attacks. Diclozyme-P Tablet has NSAIDs in it and using it may lead to an asthma attack. Hence, This medicine should be taken with caution if you are asthmatic.

Heart Disease

Diclozyme-P Tablet may cause a heart attack, stroke, or other associated symptoms if used for a long time. This risk is especially higher if you have pre-existing heart troubles. If you experience any symptoms such as chest pain, shallow breathing, slurring of speech, weakness, etc., inform your doctor immediately. Your doctor will suggest tests to monitor the functioning of your heart while on this medication.

5-HIAA Urine Test

You may get a false-positive result for this test while taking Diclozyme-P Tablet. Inform your doctor and lab technician about all your current medications including herbs and supplements before undergoing any lab tests.
Take Diclozyme-P Tablet with food to avoid stomach upset. Take the tablet immediately after removing it from the strip with a sufficient amount of water. Do not break, crush or chew the tablet. Take this medicine exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Do not take this medication for a longer duration than suggested by your doctor. Consult your doctor before you stop taking this medication. Report any unusual symptoms to your doctor right away. This medicine may cause dizziness and sleepiness. How it works

Diclozyme-P Tablet is a combination of three medicines: Diclofenac, Paracetamol, and Serratiopeptidase. Diclofenac works by reducing the formation of certain substances in the body that are responsible for causing pain and swelling. Paracetamol increases the pain threshold (ability to handle pain) and decreases swelling. Serratiopeptidase reduces redness and swelling through the breakdown of proteins present at the site of the swelling.
