Description

Derobin Ointment is a combination of Dithranol, Salicylic Acid, and Coal Tar. It is used in the treatment of psoriasis (a skin condition that causes red, itchy, scaly patches). It works by breaking down keratin (that forms part of skin structure) clumps which remove dead skin cells and soften the skin. It also works by slowing down the rapid growth of skin cells. Derobin Ointment has some common side effects like irritation and burning sensation and a change in skin colour at the application site. This medicine may also cause dryness of your skin. If any of these side effects do not resolve with time or worsen, seek your doctor's consultation at the earliest. Derobin Ointment is only for external use. It should be applied uniformly as a thin film over the affected site. Clean and pat dry the affected area before applying this medicine. Avoid contact with your eyes, nose, or mouth and wash immediately with water in case of accidental contact. Derobin Ointment is not recommended for use if you are allergic to it. Do not apply the medication on open wounds, sunburned, or dry skin as it may cause severe side effects. Derobin Ointment is not likely to interact with other medicines taken orally or as an injection. However, it is always better to inform your doctor if you are taking any other medicine. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy or are breastfeeding.
