Description

Cypon Drops is a combination of Cyproheptadine and Tricholine. It is used to increase appetite (hunger) in infants and children. It is also used to treat anorexia nervosa, an eating disorder characterised by low body weight and an obsessive fear of gaining weight. It works by stimulating the appetite centre in the brain. Cypon Drops has some side effects like nausea, headache, muscle weakness, dizziness, drowsiness, or dry mouth, nose, and throat. These side effects may subside by themselves. However, consult your child's doctor if they persist or worsen. Avoid giving this medicine to your child if he/she is allergic to it. Cypon Drops is to be given in the dose and duration prescribed by your doctor. Do not give more than the recommended dose to your child. Give this medicine to your child at the same time daily for the ease of remembering and better results. Cypon Drops may not be suitable for everyone. Inform the doctor if your child has any other health problems or taking any other medications.

Allergy

Angle Closure Glaucoma

This may cause an increase in fluid pressure inside the eyes and lead to vision loss. Cypon Drops is not recommended for use in case of angle closure glaucoma as it may worsen the condition.

Monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOI)

MAO inhibitors are a class of medication used to treat depression. Isocarboxazid, Phenelzine, and Selegiline are a few examples. Cypon Drops is not recommended for use if you are receiving treatment with MAO inhibitors due to the increased risk of serious side effects.

Symptomatic Prostatic Hypertrophy

Symptomatic prostatic hypertrophy is a condition of enlargement of the prostate gland (a walnut-sized gland located below the bladder in men, which produces fluid to nourish and transport sperm). Cypon Drops is not recommended for use in case of symptomatic prostatic hypertrophy as it may worsen the condition.
