Cortison Optichlor Eye Ointment is a combination of Chloramphenicol and Hydrocortisone. It is used for treating various eye infections caused by bacteria. This medicine works by stopping the growth of bacteria and reducing the swelling of the affected eye/eyes. Cortison Optichlor Eye Ointment can cause side effects like dry and irritated eyes. Cortison Optichlor Eye Ointment is for external use only. Administer it as directed by your doctor. Do not touch your eyes with unwashed hands. Tilt your head back slightly and pull down your lower eyelid to create a small pocket. Hold the tube close to the eye with the tip facing downwards and squeeze it. Close your eyes for 2 to 3 minutes. Avoid sharing items like eyeglasses, contact lenses, pillows, towels, clothes, eye or face makeup when you are infected. Ensure that the treatment course is completed. Report any severe undesired side effects or a lack of improvement to your doctor immediately.
