Description

Clopitorva 10 Capsule is a combination of Atorvastatin and Clopidogrel. It is used in the treatment of high blood cholesterol and triglycerides (fats) levels. Thus, it also helps to prevent the risk of heart attack and stroke (a condition that occurs due to reduced blood supply to the brain). This medicine works by preventing blood clot formation and reducing the production of unwanted fats in your body. Clopitorva 10 Capsule has some side effects like dizziness, headache, nausea, vomiting, constipation, indigestion, etc. These side effects are mild and may subside by themselves. Consult your doctor if they bother you for a long time or become severe. This medicine acts as a blood thinner, thus it may increase the risk of bleeding. Clopitorva 10 Capsule may be taken with or without food as instructed by your doctor. Take it every day at the same time for easy remembering and to avoid missing a dose. Avoid taking more than the prescribed dose as it may lead to side effects. Clopitorva 10 Capsule is not recommended for use if you are allergic to it. Avoid taking this medicine if you have bleeding problems or liver problems. Inform your doctor if you have any other medical condition or taking any other medicine before starting the treatment. Clopitorva 10 Capsule not recommended for use in children below 18 years of age due to lack of safety data. Consult your doctor if you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy, or are breastfeeding.

Uses of Clopitorva 10 Capsule

What is it prescribed for?

Hyperlipidaemia

Hyperlipidaemia refers to a high level of bad cholesterol and triglycerides (type of fats) in your blood. It may increase the risk of heart problems due to the buildup of fats, cholesterol, and other substances in the walls of your blood vessels. Hence, Clopitorva 10 Capsule is used in the treatment of hyperlipidaemia.

Prevention of heart attack and stroke

High blood levels of cholesterol and fats may lead to its deposition in the blood vessels. It may cause narrowing of the blood vessels and obstruction in blood flow leading to heart attack or stroke. Clopitorva 10 Capsule is used for the prevention of heart attack and stroke (damage to the brain due to insufficient blood supply).
