Description

Cameron 4 Tablet is a form of female sex hormone, estrogen. It is used to relieve symptoms of menopause, such as vaginal dryness/burning/itching, hot flashes, etc., that may occur due to the deficiency of estrogen. It is also used to prevent osteoporosis (a condition in which bones become weak and brittle) and the risk of bone fractures after menopause (the end of menstrual cycles in women). Cameron 4 Tablet shows side effects like stomach pain, headache, changes in weight, oedema (swelling in the legs and feet), breast tenderness, mood disturbances, depression, etc. Inform your doctor if these side effects bother you for a long time or become severe. Avoid taking this medicine if you are allergic to it. Cameron 4 Tablet can be taken with or without food. Take it at the same time every day for the ease of remembering. Your doctor will decide the dose and duration of treatment based on your clinical condition. Cameron 4 Tablet is not recommended for use if you have abnormal/unusual vaginal bleeding. Inform your doctor if you have liver or kidney problems, diabetes, or any other medical conditions. Do not take this medicine if you are pregnant or planning a pregnancy. What is it prescribed for?

Hormone replacement therapy

Post-menopausal syndrome is a group of symptoms that occur after menopause (end of menstrual cycles in women). These symptoms may include vaginal dryness/itching, hot flushes, irritability, and mood swings. Cameron 4 Tablet is used in Hormonal Replacement Therapy (a treatment with female hormones) to relieve symptoms associated with menopause.

Postmenopausal osteoporosis

Postmenopausal osteoporosis is a condition that causes weak and brittle bones due to decreased levels of estrogen in your body. Cameron 4 Tablet is used to prevent osteoporosis in women who have reached menopause and also decrease the risk of bone fractures.

Allergy

Cameron 4 Tablet can lead to an increase in clot formation if taken in higher doses and thus can worsen your condition.

Estrogen-dependent tumor

Cameron 4 Tablet is not recommended if you have or are suspected of having cancer that is sensitive to oestrogens, such as breast and cancer of the endometrium (womb lining).

Liver Tumours

Liver tumours are types of cancer that form in the liver. Cameron 4 Tablet is not recommended in liver tumours because long term use of this medicine may worsen your condition.

Porphyria

Porphyria is a condition that occurs due to the build-up of a chemical called porphyrin in your body. It affects the production of heme which transports oxygen in your blood. It can cause nerve or skin problems. Cameron 4 Tablet is not recommended for use if you have porphyria.

Breast cancer

Jaundice like symptoms

Cameron 4 Tablet may cause yellowing of the whites of the eyes and skin due to its effect on the liver and the gallbladder. Inform your doctor if you experience such symptoms.

Surgery

Cameron 4 Tablet should be discontinued at least four to six weeks before a planned surgery as it may increase the risk of blood clots in the veins. Hence, inform your doctor regarding the use of this medicine before undergoing any surgery.

Vision abnormalities

Cameron 4 Tablet may cause blurring of vision and other effects on your eyes like proptosis (bulging of the eye), diplopia (double vision), etc. Hence it should be used with caution if you have pre-existing eye problems.

Gallbladder disease

Cameron 4 Tablet can increase the risk of gallstones (small, hard stones that develop due to the accumulation of digestive fluid called bile in your gallbladder), especially in postmenopausal women. Hence, this medicine should be used with caution if you have pre-existing gall bladder problems.

Formation of blood clots

Cameron 4 Tablet should be used with caution as it may increase the risk of formation of blood clots, which may further lead to other complications.

Cameron 4 Tablet is not intended for use in children.

Missed Dose

Try not to skip a dose of Cameron 4 Tablet. In case you forget to take your medicine, take the missed dose as soon as you remember. If it is time for your next dose, skip the missed dose. Do not double your dose to compensate for the missed one.
