This will result in severe diarrhea. Appropriate corrective measures and replacement with a suitable alternative should be considered based on the clinical condition of the patient.

Hypersensitivity reactions

This medicine may cause serious and occasionally fatal hypersensitivity reactions including anaphylactic shock in some patients. This risk is especially high in patients with a history of sensitivity to multiple allergens. If an anaphylactic reaction occurs, the treatment should be discontinued immediately and appropriate corrective measures should be undertaken.

How it works

Cefotaxime works by interfering with the bacterial cell wall formation. Sulbactam inhibits some chemicals produced by the bacteria and makes the bacteria more sensitive to cefotaxime activity. Thus, their combination becomes effective against an extended range of bacteria.
