Bilclav Duo (200/28.5 mg) Suspension is a combination of Amoxycillin and Clavulanic acid. Bilclav Duo (200/28.5 mg) Suspension is used orally to treat many bacterial infections of the lungs, middle ear, sinuses, skin, teeth, and urinary tract. Amoxycillin interferes with the growth and division process of the bacterial cell wall while Clavulanic acid enhances the activity of Amoxycillin against bacteria.
The common side effects of Bilclav Duo (200/28.5 mg) Suspension use are nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, and skin rash. Consult your child's doctor at the earliest if any of these side effects persist or worsen. Before giving this medicine to your child, inform your doctor if your child is allergic to any antibiotics or has experienced any allergic reactions after taking antibiotics.
You can give Bilclav Duo (200/28.5 mg) Suspension to your child with food as it improves absorption and decreases the risks of stomach upset. Your child's doctor will decide the dose and frequency based on the severity of the infection, your child's body weight and age. Stick to the dose, time, and way prescribed. Otitis media (AOM), is an infection of the middle ear (the area behind the eardrum), common in infants and young children. Bilclav Duo (200/28.5 mg) Suspension is used to treat acute otitis media caused by bacteria. Applying a warm, moist washcloth over the infected ear can also help to reduce the swelling of the middle ear along with this medicine.
Sinusitis
Sinusitis is the swelling of membranes that line your nose and surrounding sinuses (four paired spaces in the head). It is often caused by bacteria and sometimes, viruses and fungi. You may experience a stuffed nose and pain or pressure behind your eyes, nose, cheeks, or forehead. Bilclav Duo (200/28.5 mg) Suspension is used to treat bacterial sinusitis.
Lower Respiratory Tract Infection
Bilclav Duo (200/28.5 mg) Suspension is used to treat the following lung infections:
1. Pneumonia is an infection of the air sacs in the lungs (either single or both lungs). It can be bacterial and viral. This tablet is used to treat pneumonia caused by bacteria.
2. Bronchitis is the swelling and irritation of bronchial tubes that regulates air passage in the lungs. It is used to treat bronchitis caused by bacteria.
3. Tuberculosis is a lung infection caused by bacteria. Bilclav Duo (200/28.5 mg) Suspension kills this bacteria that is resistant to multiple antibiotics.
Skin Infection
Skin and soft tissue infections occur when the bacteria invade the skin and its supporting structures. Bilclav Duo (200/28.5 mg) Suspension is used to treat all skin infections including abscess caused by bacteria.
Urinary Tract Infection

Allergy

Mononucleosis
Mononucleosis (kissing disease) may develop a maculopapular skin rash after 5-10 days of treatment with this medicine and resolves within days of discontinuing the use. Bilclav Duo (200/28.5 mg) Suspension may not be appropriate medicine in patients with mononucleosis.
Colitis
Bilclav Duo (200/28.5 mg) Suspension can kill the helpful bacteria in your stomach or intestine and leads to diarrhoea. Therefore, use this tablet with extreme caution if there is colitis (swelling of the inner lining of the colon).
Kidney Disease
Patients with kidney diseases need special consideration while taking Bilclav Duo (200/28.5 mg) Suspension due to the risk of kidney damage. Dose adjustment should be done based on the clinical condition.
