Description

Basiprom Plus Suspension is used for the treatment of fever and minor body pain, especially those that are due to a common cold. It also provides relief from allergic symptoms due to common colds like runny nose, sneezing, cough, redness of the nose, and watery eyes. Basiprom Plus Suspension stops the release of a chemical called prostaglandin that causes pain and fever and also histamine responsible for causing allergic symptoms. Side effects of Basiprom Plus Suspension are dizziness, sleepiness, diarrhoea, nausea or vomiting. However, Basiprom Plus Suspension is banned for use in India due to its severe adverse effects. Basiprom Plus Suspension can be taken with or without food. For the ease of remembering, take it at around the same time every day.

Respiratory Depression

Respiratory depression is a condition of slow and ineffective exchange of breathing gases- oxygen and carbon dioxide in the lungs. Basiprom Plus Suspension is not recommended for use in patients with respiratory depression due to the increased risk of worsening of the patient's condition.

Heart Disease

Long-term use of Basiprom Plus Suspension may increase the risk of irregular heartbeat in patients with pre-existing heart conditions or heart rhythm disorders. Heart function needs to be monitored in such patients.

5-HIAA Urine Test

Basiprom Plus Suspension can interfere with a urine test and may give a false-positive result. It is advised to inform the doctor and lab technician about all your current medicines before undergoing any lab test.
Take Basiprom Plus Suspension with or without food. Never take more than the prescribed dose. Take this suspension at around the same time daily.
