Description
Azerva E Tablet is a combination of Atorvastatin and Ezetimibe. It is used to decrease the bad cholesterol (LDL) and fats (triglycerides) in your body. High cholesterol increases the risk of heart attack and stroke. This medicine blocks the formation of cholesterol in your body and prevents the absorption of cholesterol through the small intestine.
The common side effects of Azerva E Tablet use are headache, nausea, vomiting, constipation and stomach pain. Consult your doctor if any side effects persist or worsen. Avoid taking this medicine if you are previously allergic to it.
Inform your doctor if you notice signs of liver problems such as stomach pains, unusually dark urine or yellowing of your skin or eyes. Notify your doctor if you experience muscle pain or weakness, particularly if it is accompanied by fever.
You can take Azerva E Tablet with or without food. Even if you feel well, do not stop this medicine on your own. If you stop taking it, your condition may get worse and can be hard to treat. Try not to skip the Azerva E Tablet dose and avoid an overdose of this medicine.
To make sure Azerva E Tablet is safe for you, share your entire medical and medication history with your doctor. This medicine is not recommended for use in children. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy or are breastfeeding.

Hypercholesterolemia
Hypercholesterolemia is a condition characterized by high levels of cholesterol in your blood. Azerva E Tablet is used to treat this condition.
Prevention of Cardiovascular Disease
High cholesterol levels accumulate in your blood vessels (coronary artery) and narrows or block the blood vessels leading to an interrupted blood supply to your heart. Azerva E Tablet is used to reduce the risk of heart attacks by lowering the levels of bad cholesterol and fats in your blood. It is also effective in reducing high blood pressure.
Homozygous Familial Hypercholesterolemia
Homozygous Familial Hypercholesterolemia is a genetic disorder characterized by high cholesterol levels. Azerva E Tablet is used to lower the cholesterol levels in your body.

Allergy

Active liver disease
Azerva E Tablet is converted into its active form by liver. This accumulation may worsen your liver condition. Hence, Azerva E Tablet is not recommended for use if you have active liver diseases.

Coumarin Anticoagulants
Azerva E Tablet should be used with extreme caution while receiving coumarin anticoagulants such as warfarin due to the increased risk of excessive bleeding.
Use in Children
Azerva E Tablet is not recommended for use in children less than 18 years of age since the safety and efficacy of use are not clinically established.
Missed Dose

Consumption of grapefruit juice is not recommended during treatment with Azerva E Tablet due to the increased risk of severe adverse effects. These side effects may include muscle pain and weakness, fever, chills, swelling of joints, skin rash, nausea, vomiting, etc.
