Description

Asthakind Drops is a preparation used in relieving productive cough. It dissolves thick mucus formed in the air passages and makes it easier to cough out mucus made in your chest (phlegm). It helps in relieving symptoms such as wheezing, shortness of breath, chest tightness, breathing difficulties and coughing caused by bronchospasm (contraction of airways), bronchial asthma (airway path of the lungs to swell and narrow), and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD- A group of lung diseases that block airflow and make it difficult to breathe), etc. Use Asthakind Drops only if advised by your physician. You may experience certain side effects like headache, diarrhoea, blurred vision, nausea and vomiting, etc. Do not use Asthakind Drops if previously allergic to it. Complete the entire treatment course for the best results even if symptoms subside. Maintain caution in heart, kidney or liver impairment patients while using this medicine. Take Asthakind Drops with or without food. Use this medicine with the doctor recommendation only. This medicine is not intended for use in pregnant women or nursing mothers. Always observe the child for any side effects during the treatment course with Asthakind Drops. These drops are not recommended for use in infants below 6 months of age.

What is it prescribed for?

Bronchospasm

Bronchospasm is the contraction of bronchial smooth muscles resulting in narrowing of the bronchi. Due to this, there may be decreased airflow into the lungs. Asthakind Drops sometimes used to relieve the symptoms of bronchospasm such as wheezing, shortness of breath, chest tightness, breathing difficulties, coughing, etc., in bronchial asthma, chronic bronchitis. In children aged 2 years, this medicine used to treat conditions such as bronchial asthma, chronic bronchitis, upper respiratory tract infections (URTIs), etc.

Cough suppressants

Do not consume Asthakind Drops if you are on any other cough suppressants since they have opposite effects. Inform your physician before use.

Gastric ulceration

Asthakind Drops is not recommended for use in patients with a known history of gastric ulceration or any other gastrointestinal disorders due to the increased risk of worsening the patient's condition.

Liver and/or kidney impairment

Caution is advised while using Asthakind Drops in patients with liver/kidney disease due to an increased risk of adverse effects in these patients.

Glaucoma

Patients with pre-existing glaucoma should maintain caution while consuming Asthakind Drops due to worsening of the patient's condition.

Missed Dose

Try not to skip the scheduled dose of Asthakind Drops. If it's time for the next dose, do not double the dose.

Overdose

Reach the nearest emergency medical department immediately or contact the doctor in case of over dose intake of Asthakind Drops.

Asthakind Drops may decrease blood potassium levels (hypokalemia) in some patients with imbalanced potassium levels or electrolytes. Hence, always maintain caution while administration orally.
