Description

Amphy IBL 1000 Tablet is a combination medicine which may be used for treating a wide variety of bacterial infections of the lungs and airways, middle ear, sinuses, urinary tract, etc caused by susceptible bacteria. It should be used with caution in patients with kidney diseases due to the increased risk of adverse effects. This medicine is not recommended for treating a common cold, flu, or other viral infections since it is not effective in treating these infections.

What is it prescribed for?

Ear Infection (Otitis Media)

This medicine may be used to treat infections of the middle ear caused by susceptible strains of bacteria.

Nose Infection (Sinusitis)

This medicine may be used in the treatment of infections of the nose and nasal chamber caused by susceptible strains of bacteria.

Pharyngitis/Tonsilitis (Throat infection)

This medicine may be used in the treatment of infections of the throat and airways leading to lungs, namely Tonsillitis and Pharyngitis, caused by susceptible strains of bacteria.

Lower Respiratory Tract Infection

This medicine may be used in the treatment of infections of the airways leading to the lungs. The infections can be Pneumonia, acute bronchitis, or others caused by susceptible strains of bacteria.

Urinary Tract Infection

This medicine may be used in the treatment of infections of the bladder (Cystitis) and kidneys (Pyelonephritis) caused by susceptible strains of bacteria.

Dental Abcess

This medicine may be used in the treatment of an infection of the gums that results in the formation of pus around the roots of the tooth.

Allergic Reaction

Diarrhea

Antibiotic therapy will cause an imbalance in the normal microbial flora of the large intestine, which may promote the growth of a bacteria called Clostridium difficile and you may experience severe diarrhea as a result. Report any such incidence to the doctor on priority. Appropriate dose adjustments or replacement with a suitable alternative may be required based on the clinical condition.

Drug-resistance

Usage of this medicine without sufficient proof or suspicion of a bacterial infection should be avoided. Irrational dosing might fail in providing the benefits and even cause toxicity. It may also increase the risk of development of bacteria that are drug-resistant.

Electrolyte imbalance
