Consumption of alcohol while taking this medicine can cause CNS depression characterized by confusion, lack of focus, anxiety, drowsiness etc.
Instructions
Avoid or limit the uptake of alcohol while taking this medicine as the risk of adverse effects are increasingly high. Contact your doctor if an excess of drowsiness is experienced.
Interaction with Medicine
Disease interactions
This medicine should be used with caution in patients having an impaired kidney function. The impairment could be because of a disease or another medication that the patient is consuming. Suitable dose adjustment and clinical monitoring of safety are recommended in such cases.
Use of this medicine is not recommended if the patient is suffering from Parkinson's disease. Consumption of this medicine will worsen the symptoms of the disease. Your doctor may prescribe an alternate medication under such circumstances.
This medicine should be used with caution in patients who are either suffering from heart rhythm disorders or are suspected of having the condition. The risk of adverse effects are increasingly high in such cases and hence caution is advised.
Neuroleptic Malignant Syndrome (NMS)
Use of this medicine is not recommended if the patient suffers from Neuroleptic malignant syndrome. Introduction or reintroduction of this medicine should be done with caution in patients having a known history of this syndrome.
