Alex Junior Syrup is a combination medicine which may be used to relieve symptoms such as a cough and nasal congestion associated with various medical conditions. It is not recommended for use in patients less than 2 years of age.

Allergy
This medicine is not recommended for use if you have a known allergy to dextromethorphan, chlorpheniramine, or any other inactive ingredients present in the formulation.
Benign prostatic hyperplasia
This medicine is not recommended for use in patients suffering from benign prostatic hyperplasia due to the increased risk of worsening of the patient's condition.
Monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOI)
This medicine is not recommended for use in patients taking monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOI) due to the increased risk of serious and life-threatening side effects. A time gap of at least 14 days should be maintained between stopping therapy with MAOIs and starting therapy with this medicine.

Emphysema

How it works
Chlorpheniramine blocks the action of certain substances produced by the body which induce allergic reactions. Dextromethorphan blocks the signals from the brain that trigger cough reflex and thus helps in suppressing the cough.
