This medicine is used in the treatment of Hyperlipidemia IIa which is also known as Familial Hypercholesterolemia, characterized by the increased blood levels of LDL (low-density lipoprotein, which leads to the formation of the cholesterol).

This medicine is used in the treatment of Hyperlipidemia IIb which is also known as Familial Combined Hyperlipidemia, characterized by the increased blood levels of LDL (Low-density lipoprotein) and VLDL (Very low-density lipoprotein).
