What is it prescribed for?

Gastroesophagal Reflux Disease (heartburn)

This medicine may be used for the treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), a condition where the acid produced in the stomach causes irritation of the food pipe.

Peptic Ulcer (Gastric ulcers)

This medicine may be used to treat pain and increased gas formation/flatulence associated with peptic ulcers, a condition characterized by sores on the inner lining of the stomach or the upper small intestine.

Dyspepsia

This medicine may be used to treat indigestion or discomfort in the stomach which usually starts immediately after a meal.

Functional gastric disorder

This medicine may be used to relieve symptoms such as belching, abdominal pain, bloating, stomach distention, etc. associated with functional gastric disorders.

Close monitoring of magnesium levels, appropriate dose adjustments, or replacement with a suitable alternative may be necessary based on the clinical condition.

Kidney disease

This medicine should be used with caution in patients suffering from kidney diseases due to the increased risk of severe adverse effects. Close monitoring of kidney function is recommended for such patients. Appropriate dose adjustments or replacement with a suitable alternative may be necessary based on the clinical condition.

Use in Children

How it works

Magaldrate combines with the acid produced in the stomach and neutralizes it. This, in turn, provides relief from symptoms such as heartburn, sour stomach, etc. Simethicone reduces excessive gas in the stomach and relieves symptoms such as stomach discomfort, abdominal pain, and flatulence. Oxetacaine inhibits the acid secretion in the stomach to reduce the pain and irritation associated with peptic ulcers and other diseases of the stomach and intestines.
