1. What are warts?
Warts are small, rough, hard growths which are caused by Human Papilloma Virus (HPV). They can spread from person to person by contact with the wart.
2. Do I need surgery for warts?
If the warts are not responding to medications and they keep on recurring, then surgery might be needed for warts.
3. What are the causes of warts?
Warts are caused by HPV which usually infects the skin in folds orgenitals. Risk factors for warts include young age due to the low immunity and presence of conditions that lower immune function like HIV, diabetes, and treatment with corticosteroids.
4. How are warts diagnosed?
Warts are diagnosed by clinically examining the warts. Top layer of the wart might be scrapped as a sample of biopsy for further analysis. Thus, a wart is mostly diagnosed by physical examination and history alone.
