Worm Infection
My baby suffering worm infection with lillte belly pain and anus iching (specially after pooping), he got 1st dose of Albentazol 400mg on 6 days ago, but still worm comes with poop and anus iching.
How many days to repeat the next dose , ?
Cann I give next dose ivermectin + albendazole for better results ? Or simply albentazol again ?, cause only albentazol not improved.
Ivermectin not recommended below 5 yrs. Also it's not the best drug for pinworm. Other drugs useful are Mebendazole and Pyrantel palmoate
Next Steps
May take a week to clear all worms. Some of these may be dead worms Albendazole needs to be repeated after 2 weeks of 1st dose
Health Tips
Rinsing area well, good hand hygiene, treatment of family contacts will prevent re infection
