It depend on the condition of that particular tooth and also it's position. Sometimes, the wisdom tooth is tilted and out of line. It causes food lodgement in between the wisdom tooth and the one in front of it. This will lead to multiple problems for the tooth in front. So it is better to get the wisdom tooth removed. However, if the presence of the wisdom tooth is not causing trouble to you in any way, and if the tooth in front is also unaffected, then you can retain it.
