Chances of infection very rare although cannot be ruled out and has nothing to do with age. Cataract is usually a disease of the old and studies have shown that decreased vision increases mortality and mental deterioration so it is better to give her vision so that she can enjoy a good quality of life. Cataract surgeries are quite predictable and usually takes 15 to 30 min.
