Lactating mother needs to have a good diet to ensure that her health and the health of her child is taken care of. She needs more calories than a regular person. So make sure that she takes well balanced diet of green vegetables, protein like dal, rajma, chana, soybean, paneer, egg, meat etc, with her rotis. A little ghee must be added to her meals.
Her snacks should also be protein and
calcium rich like peanut butter sandwich, paneer sandwich, chana chat, sprout salad etc, fruit yoghurt, milk porridge , dry fruit besan laddoo, panjiri etc
She can add protein powder or mother's horlics to her milk if still there is a need .
