This looks like pityriasis alba, which is a common and harmless skin condition in children. It usually appears as light-colored patches, especially after dryness or mild inflammation of the skin. These white patches are not dangerous and are not due to any vitamin deficiency or infection. In many cases, they gradually improve on their own with time. Keeping the skin well moisturized and avoiding excessive soap or scrubbing is usually enough. We generally advise a ‘wait and watch’ approach, as the normal skin color returns slowly over weeks to months.Post inflammation also these white patches occur especially below 1 yr.
