My 6 year old got white patch on cheeks which got little brighter over the days. Dermatologist told it is Pityriasis alba but even after applying tbis ointment, gracecort cream and duvitin lotion its got brighter. Is it P. Alba? How long will it take to go ? Why is it increasing? Attaching earlier and now pics.

Hello, The white patch on your child’s cheek, diagnosed as Pityriasis alba, is a common and harmless condition often linked to dry skin or mild eczema. The fact that it appears brighter could be due to changes in lighting or contrast with surrounding skin. While treatments like Gracecort and Duvitin lotion help reduce inflammation and dryness, it can take several weeks to a few months for the patch to fade completely.
Next Steps
Ensure regular application of a gentle moisturizer to keep the skin hydrated and avoid any harsh soaps. If the patch continues to increase or doesn’t improve after consistent treatment, I recommend following up with your dermatologist for reassessment.
