When to stop boiling water

I'm a bit confused about the right time to stop boiling water for my baby. Up until now, I've been boiling the water for my baby, but I recently started giving him filtered water without boiling after he turned 6 months old. However, a friend told me that water should be boiled for babies until they are 12 months old. This has made me quite concerned. I would like to know what issues my baby may face if he drinks unboiled water?

Better to give boiled water as it gives additional protection to filtered water .

Depends on the supply If supply of water is good round the year, then it is okay not to boil the water
