troponin test measures the levels troponin T or troponin I proteins in the blood. These proteins are released when the heart muscle has been damaged, such as occurs with a heart attack. The more damage there is to the heart, the greater the amount of troponin T and I there will be in the blood.
Slightly high troponin can also be due to other causes than heart attack... Like sepsis ( infection in blood)
So if her troponin are very high or if it's is rising more than double in the second troponin test- then she has had a heart attack..
And she will need antiplatelet, anticoagulants and other heart medications...
I cannot comment further unless I know the details of her situation...
I'll suggest you to get a case summary from your doctor and then get back to me for discussion.
