It's okay to swallow some amount of the spray. The correct way would be to place the nozzle inside your nose, and take a quick, deep breath simultaneously as you're pressing the container. This will minimise the amount of drug entering your mouth.

You need to know the correct application of the nasal spray by consulting your physician for the most effective action. Regardless , it can come to the throat leading to Bitter sensation.( I myself had experienced it) .

No harm in swallowing, bt it does mean that the medications are getting wasted.

If the pump spray is used correctly, the spray should not drip from your nose or down the back of your throat.Point the nozzle of the nasal spray container toward the back of your head. If you don't spray straight, you will waste the medicine and may cause more irritation in your nose and drip in throat
