for only -3.0 D power with no cylinder contact lenses are not indicated medically. However you can use contact lenses for cosmetic purpose. The first and foremost criteria for going in for contact lenses is your own ability to set aside time of 15 to 20 min in the morning and evenings to maintain the lenses and use them in the prescribed manner. If you can do this I have had patients using contact lenses for 20 years without any problem.
Next Steps
The next thing you need to see if you have any kind of infection or disease in the eyes because of which you should NOT use contact lenses. For this at least for the first time get yourself examined so that your eye care provider can decide if you are a fit candidate for contact lenses.

Based on your power of glasses, you can go in for contact lenses. However, if you have dryness or allergy in your eyes, using contact lenses can worsen it. It is advisable to go for daily disposable lenses in beginning till you get used to them.
Next Steps
Take proper precautions while using and removal and maintain proper hygiene. Slowly increase the time of use of the lenses.
