Unexplainable anemia

I recently had a double iron infusion. Should I continue taking iron supplements?

Hello, In my opinion u continue the iron Medicin as slowly u again become anemic. Take few fresh leaf of spinach,small piece of beatroot,tomato, carrot crush them to make purae or juice addsalt sugar bhuna jeera according to your taste n take it help u alot. Ok.

Anemia SX – weakness, palpitations, fainting, breathlessness, dyspnea, pica. PE – Eyes. • Skin (pallor). • Nails (spooning). • CV (tachycardia).
Next Steps
DX – • CBC w/ Diff (Hb - low, MCV - see above table). • Peripheral smear (microcytic, hypochromic). • Reticulocyte count (low in iron def, high in hemolytic anemia). • Iron (low), Ferritin (low), TIBC (high). • Vit B12, Folate, Lead level. • CMP (Albumin).
Health Tips
TX – Macrocytic Anemia Tx: • Folic Acid 1 mg PO QD. • Vitamin B12 (cyanocobalamin) 1000 mcg PO QD or 1000mcg IM QMonth. Re-check CBC, B12, Folate levels in 3 - 6 months. Microcytic Anemia Tx: • Ferrous Sulfate 150 - 300 mg BID x 3 - 6 months. Re-check CBC, iron studies in 3 - 6 months.
