Unable to perform intercourse

We are unable to perform intercourse. Insertion pains a lot may be because body is sensitive or because of low pain tolerance. We have tried it with natural lubrication, with external lubes but it has been of no use. How should we take it forward. Does it need a gynaecologist visit to figure out possible reasons.
