Unable to come off antidepressants
I have been on ssri antidepressant Nexito from last 5 years. Started from 20 mg then tapered to 5 mg and gradually tried stopping it twice as per the doctors instructions. But in both the attempts I failed and relapsed, same symptoms came again. Just confused as if it will have any long term effects on my body. Will it be cured completely over time? Or if no then what will it have effects on body taking it lifetime.

SSRIs are known to have discontinuation syndrome, which may be for as short as 5 days and as long as 6 months. So it's stopping has to be guided. Moreover discontinuation symptoms need to be differentiated from relapse.

Hi sir, the dose you are on is the lowest effective dose and should not have any major side effects.
Every patient is different and requires different ways of treatment which may include medicines and psychosocial management, so it cannot be predicted regarding cure. However, symptoms can be managed over time.
