Typhoid Vaccine efficacy

My 4 yr old daughter was given typhoid vaccine (1st dose) when she was 1 yr old & second dose when she was 2 yr old. But still she suffered with typhoid few weeks ago. Why is it so? How much time does the vaccine give protection against a particular disease? What is the time period for typhoid antibodies to stay in the body?

Typhoid vaccine is not 100% effective. It's efficacy is 70% max. That means she can get infected again even if she is vaccinated but the risk of reinfection and severity is decreased. Protection is for 2 yrs for injectable vaccine and 5 yrs for oral vaccine. Hence booster is needed after every 2yrs.

Good morning, Even after typhoid vaccine, typhoid can occur, don't panic, no vaccine is 100percent, but after vaccine, complications of disease are very less. Take care. 🙏Tiwari child clinic Delhi🙏
