At birth there's an increase in TSH level. Reduces to <10 mIU/ litre by 2 to 3 days of age
Next Steps
Better to test again at 2 or 3 days age

It's usually high soon after birth till 48 hrs. Get the levels repeated on Day 3 or Day 5.
