My 21 months old son was admitted in hospital for a vey bad cough ..initially he had fever for 2days and subsided later cough was not subsided . Hence X-ray was taken was told to get admitted because he had lots of infection. Started antibiotics and as he is getting cranky they are giving triclofos syrup .. every time he wakes up . Is it ok to give that medication multiple times this way . I am really worried .please suggest

For Infection you require antibiotics and some cough syrup to relieve symptom of cough. Triclofos . is for mental irritability. i do not give such drugs Antibiotics are enough for 4-5 days. Cough syrup is also sedating. use indian herbs concoction of crushed piece of ginger, cloves3-4, jaggary boil in water for10minutes water .lt will reduce. let it cool, feed yourson.
