Tooth Extraction for a Diabetic patient
Hi My mother is a diabetic patient , her sugar levels are 174 before breakfast and 293 after food and she has tooth decay .
Can tooth extraction be done ??

Hello... For tooth extraction, the sugar levels before food had to be below or 120 and after food had to be at least below 200 .. Then tooth extraction is safe..
In case if you do now with high sugar levels, the bleeding time will get increased..

Tooth extraction and Diabetes is directly related to healing time. High blood sugar level (PP of more than 200mg/dl) need to be ideally controlled and then can proceed with extraction.
Extraction depends on other factors in such patients like mobility of teeth, presence of infection and emergency extraction due to trauma.
Kindly get a physicians consent for removal before proceeding.
