My suggestion would be to go for a conservative treatment first. Radical procedures like surgical corrections can be done at a later stage if the symptoms do not improve. The conservative treatment will include fabrication of a soft silicone tray called as a night guard which has to be worn at least during the night while sleeping or otherwise also in the daytime whenever possible. This will not treat the damage that has already happened but will prevent the further damage to the jaw bones by acting as a cushion for the forces being borne by the condyle.
Regards.
