Have constant pain in the lower jaw under ear lobe and neck for 14 months now. I have clicking and grating sound in the jaw. Only on the right side.
My jaw/mouth deviates to left side in closed position. I have sensitivity and soreness on tooth 30 for tapping and biting pressure on it. Had root canal and still the same symptoms.
No definite answer yet. Had CBCT scan of Tmj and nothing abnormal. Attaching the screenshot of cbct report.
Have seen an Oral surgeon tmj specialist and he sent me for an MRI. I got the report and it says no disc displacement.
what is sigmoid bulb venous diverticulum? Is this something serious?
-I do have jaw clicking and grating sound. Can we have those sounds when the discs are not displaced?
What does it indicate when disc not displaced and having jaw clicking&grating.
Should I ask for TMJ splint or Mouth guard? (I am not using one).
Does it indicate muscle issues or MPDS?

Goof afternoon mam.
I have gone through your description.
You are talking about your joint called TMJ (Temporomandibular Joint).
No need to worry.
This type of pain and clicking sound occurs when this joint get overworked.
This overwork happens unconsciously.
Follow this instruction for few days you may get relief from this problem.
1. Prevent Wide opening of your mouth.
(It happens when you yawn. Grip your nose and cheek with your fingers and lock it when you yawn it helps you to prevent wide opening of your mouth).
2. Avoid side to side movement of your lower jaw. It cause more damage to your joint.
3. Stop sleeping left or right side to avoid unnecessary movement of your lower jaw.
4. Avoid eating Hard food like Waffers.

Kindly Consult for follow up after 15 days.
