Hey, if the only problem is the clicking sound with no kind of associated pain or change in amount of mouth opening. Then it could be because of excess wide opening of mouth or chewing on something too hard. It is temporary mostly. But if the problem Persists or is associated with deviation in mouth opening or limited opening or tenderness , visit a TMJ specialist . generally an oral surgeon or prosthodontist will be able to treat it well.
Health Tips
Eat soft food , dont open excessively to try to hear the clicking, or during yawning

Hello! Popping sound during opening or closing of mouth can occur due to various reasons, most common being traumatic injury or traumatic bite pattern of your jaws. This condition can be reversed at early stages with proper management.
Next Steps
Consult a dentist. Get additional x rays of your affected joint and MRI also if required
Health Tips
Avoid wide mouth opening. For example during yawning, during eating. Try to eat with spoon.
