Hello, I understand your concern Tetanus is well prevented by the routine vaccines he’s already received. Just focus on good wound cleaning and watch for signs of infection. No extra tetanus injection is needed right now. The next booster (DTaP/DT/Td) will be due at 5 years of age as part of routine immunization.
Next Steps
Clean the wound well: Wash the area gently with clean running water and mild soap. Remove any visible dirt or gravel. Apply antiseptic (like povidone-iodine). Cover with a clean dressing. Keep the area clean and dry. Change dressing daily. Give age-appropriate pain relief if needed (as advised).
Health Tips
Red flags: If the wound is deep, dirty, or contaminated (with soil, rust, or animal feces). If there’s persistent bleeding, swelling, or pus. If child develops fever, redness, or increasing pain.

Tetanus vaccine is not required if he had received his regular vaccines at 6weeks,10weeks,14weeks and 18months if age as those vaccines consists of tetanus component. However should be confirmed after checking his vaccination records
