His right leg is red and swollen from below the knee. He was not well and had fever around a week back. After which his legs started paining. Mom applied Balm and he covered himself with a blanket. Then he felt good but then later towards the day this happened. We have consulted our family doctor and he is on antibiotics since 3 days. The redness has reduced but swelling is there and increases by evenings

Looks like it is cellulitis by the description provided. Means it is infection. Limb elevation, rest and antibiotics. Since the condition of patient has improved by treatment, I think you can continue the same. Any worsening or non responsive stage should suggest that it needs alteration in medicine
