My father is a farmer and he has been suffering from pain on his middle finger due to some swelling. Neither he got injured nor bitten by any insect. Please suggest me, what it could be or is it serious issue?

Picture is not clear...but I could see some ulcer. ..if it has developed on its own , without  any injury. ..u have to be cautious and get investigated...don't neglect
