Swelling and pain around the left ankle

2025-06-02 08:56:06
Out of a sudden, my left ankle started aching and some redness was visible soon after. Just a few hours later, it started swelling and aching too much. I tried a pain relief spray, pain killers, heat plaster but nothing seems to be working as of now. It's been 3 days now.

Painful swelling with redness without any injury, could be due to cellulitis or gout.If the swelling is not relieved after using the pain reliever, rest and ice pack application,do consider consulting a physician in your area for a clinical examination and further investigations.

If your ankle Joint is swollen all of a sudden and without any injury then you should visit a rheumatologist and get tests done like ANA RA factor ANCA If you have pain with swelling after an injury it’s better to visit an orthopedic doctor instead of self medicating If you’re having fever and redness associated with pain and swelling that’s involving the ankles and the Foot also which is progressive with a rise in temperature then you should get CBC ESR CRP tests done and a Uric acid level too it might be because of raised uric acid which gets deposited in joints and cause pain as in Gout Do visit a doctor or consult and get an X Ray done
