One day I woke up and saw 7 to 8 floaters in both the eyes, it was sudden but this is like permanent now. Sometimes When coughing or vomiting i see stars like dots so many for 2 to 3 seconds. I went to an eye doctor and he said there is no hole or tear in the retina...but this is fearing and bothering...how come so Many floaters come suddenly? Is it normal ? And is there be a day when i stop seeing them ? I have early dry maculopathy and dot cataract in both eyes.

Floaters are shadows caused by tiny specs in the jelly like matter that fills up the eye behind the lens. The shadows are seen as the particles move across the field of vision. During coughing there is a violent shake up and the shadows seem to increase. Dot cataract can increase the number of shadows as there is additional scattering of light. Get a retinal periphery examination done regularly.

If you notice increase in number of floaters or flashes then consult nearby ophthalmologist and get retina evaluated as soon.

You need to be careful about flashes. If you see them get an early retinal check up. Also get a follow up done after a month.
