I am 19 years old female my tsh was 6.2 , 6 months back now it is 3 can u plz tell me how long it takes to treat subclinical hypothyroidism. is the medication lifelong ? or can you discontinue the medication .I don't want to take medication lifelong

Actually the diagnosis itself is a misnomer. It is not mentioned in so many Text Books. But somehow it is going on , because Laboratory reports mention it in a footnote . Now it has been proved by surveys among Thyroid patients that the longest duration of treatment for Thyroid diseases is for those who have been labelled as "Subclinical hypothyroidism". No doctor wants to stop it .
