My 9 year old prefer to take maxtra syrup for cold which was prescribed when she was 4 years old. Other syrup for cold, she does not want to take. Will the maxta syrup work for cold now at 9 years

As she is 9 yr old  you can give tab levocetrizine 2.5mg 1tab once daily before food in evening

Yes it will work. But the dose needs to be adjusted according to the weight. And its better to take tablets rather that syrup at this age.
