Sleepless nights when anxious

I am normally a fairly balanced person, although I've always been a bit on the anxious side. Sometimes though, something seems to "trigger" my anxiety and it's a whole different thing. I manage to cope well during the day because I keep myself busy, but at bed time I struggle to fall asleep and, if i do fall asleep, i wake up a couple of hours later ending up for having sleepless nights. Once my "trigger" is off, I otherwise rest well. Can I take anything to help my rest during those nights?

Hello Friend, Good that your seeking a help here. It's good that you fairly understood your problem well. Anxiety is the root cause for the sleeplessness. As body and mind are interlinked, this emotional disturbance influence your body with symptoms like sleeplessness, nervousness, poor appetite, constipation etc. In Ayurveda, it called as an effect of imbalanced air energy or Vata. So you will experience  cold, rough, dry, subtle qualities of air as disturbance in body. Sleeplessness is one key disturbances. There are solutions available in  ayurveda through home remedies, dietary, lifestyle routines and few therapy treatments. But it needs little detailed about your body constitution. May be you can reach me online as I am also a ayurveda wellness counselor.
