I have seborrheic dermatitis on my face around nose. Last year August I have undergone TCA chemical peel after that I have developed post inflammatory pigmentation. Then I used hydroquinone 4% at night and spf 30 on day. Sometimes it is fading slightly and come back strongly. Even my seborrheic dermatitis also not cured also pih also been darker. Could anyone suggest me what chemical peel should be done for seborrheic dermatitis and pih. I'm desperate to clear this problem because my marriage is yet to come.
Hello, It would be better if you are able to send a picture of your condition. There are effective medicines to keep seborrhoeic dermatitis under control. Hydroquinone 4% will help to reduce pigmentation only and not seborrhoeic dermatitis. Peels can be opted once disease is under control. Meanwhile strict sun protection is very important to prevent further darkening of the skin. Use suncreen every 3 hourly. Cover face with stole/ umbrella for added protection. Talk to your dermatologist regarding further management.
