Hi. Skin tags are skin out growths that may possibly occur due to age / hereditary factors / diabetes mellitus / etc . There may not be a definite way to prevent them, but you could treat them at will with ablative laser / radio frequency ablation. Warm regards, Dr Govind S Mittal, Bengaluru
