SSRI are one of the most trusted medicines in psychiatric practice. Although initially, patient may experience Gastrointestinal side effects like nausea, vomiting, bloating etc, heaviness of head, sedation etc, these usually subside in 2 weeks.
For it to provide any palpable benefit, it takes a minimum of 10-14 days. This is the period needed for neuro receptor adaptation to happen. Hence initial phases require patience before a response can be expected
Provided you are having sedation with daxid, a common strategy is to shift it at night, so that you can feel fresh in the morning. Daxid is usually a an activating molecule and hence prescribed in the morning
